Calling
04:22
|
|||
Ch. Oh calling, I am calling you the one
Oh calling, I am calling you the one
1. Though I am far, I am with you
Words or no words, I am near
If you're lonely in the evening
Listen inside, and you'll hear
2. There's a dark space, where the seed lies
And it's calling for your love
Cross the ocean of your longing
Listen in you'll find me here
3. I am calling in the distance
I am crying to be heard
I am willing you to answer
From your corner of the world
4. Cross the oceans and the deserts
Down the rivers and the seas
Through the forests and the wetlands
Down the branches to the leaves
Oh calling, I am calling for the earth
Oh crying, I am crying for the earth

Song of the River Taw
03:22
|
|||
1. Wandering along a heather road, wandering the road along
Thinking of a song of long ago, thinking of an ancient song
Song of water softly flow, running down into the stone
Falling down into the River Taw
Many metres down below
Ch. Earth and sky and clouds are drifting swiftly by
Earth and sky and river down below
By and by a skylark singing way up high,
Earth to sky and down again she'll go.
2. Wind is blowing all the mist away, whispering the road along
Sun is shining with an orange ray, moon is rising before long
Song of moonlight set aglow, all the valley down below
Shining down onto the River Taw
Silver water softly flow
Ch.

Driftwood
03:35
|
|||
1. And the song bird cried
who is adrift, the sea or you
who is adrift, you or the sea
And I replied
I am adrift, on a sea of wings
I ride upon, the wings of the wind
The wings of the wind
ch. And the sea bird flies, over the sea
And the song bird cries, down by me
2. And the song bird cries
are you the driftwood, or the sea
are you the driftwood, or the sea
And I reply
If I'm the driftwood, you're the sea
If you're adrift, then follow me
Then join with me

Dad's Song
05:08
|
|||
Ch. Sun is shining and the wind is rising
as the sails are filling and the boat is gliding
Storm is building and the waves are gathering
The boat is rolling and the birds are crying
1. Wind is dropping as the moon is rising
as you drop the anchor and your senses filling
With the smell of ocean and the sound of water
And the feel of saltiness upon your fingers
2. And as the salt smell lingers in the air
A single star is shining in the sky
A seabird passes by
And as you hear the old familiar sound
Of boat on water slapping, whistling wind
Between the rigging things
Ch.
3. And as you sit and watch a single cloud
And as it clothes the moon in silver light
Behold the sky at night
And as you wonder what it's all about
And watch the moonlight flicker in and out
As shadows fly about
Ch.
4. And as you sit and watch a single star
And let it shine a light on where you are
And even who you are
And as the East wind brings the call to rise
A flock of seabirds cross the Northern skies
The sunlight fills your eyes
Is it enough, for you to be, under the sky, over the sea
Is it enough, for you to be, under the sky, over the
Ch.
We're sailing on the wind under the sky over the sea
We're laughing with the clouds, sailing across the wide blue sea
We're flying with the wind under the sky over the sea .....

Song for Dorothy and Liz
05:34
|
|||
1. Would you have sung a lullaby under the blue Jamaican sky
Would you have walked the road to school, children up high upon the mule
Did you worry, with your man so far away
Did you miss him, when you came out here to stay
2. Leaving your life, your house, your home
Leaving your husband all alone
Living in 1944, working in London in the war
Did your painting somehow help to ease your mind
Softly playing piano in the evening time
3. But you were not to live for long, leaving a daughter and a son
Taking your brush she learns to weave beauty in everything she sees
Did her painting help her cross a sea of time
Feeling closer, colouring the evening time
4. Finding a way to save the land, painting it's lines with brush in hand
Living a life so strong and rare, making a home for all to share
Now we gather to remember all her years
Celebrating, honouring her, shedding tears
5. And now the world is slowly turning
And now the earth is turning round
And now my heart is slowly burning
Into the leaves, the land, the ground
And all the leaves are falling down
Yellow and gold and red and brown
Would you have sung a lullaby
Under the blue Jamaican sky
6. And now the world is turning, slowly turning
Turning into dust
And now the world is turning, softly turning
turning into light
Into the light inside my heart
Into the light, into the air and into love
Love, love, love.....

Grandfather Blues
06:21
|
|||
1. She sailed across the ocean, she came back home to him
She came because he needed her, my grandmother Dorothy
The war was not yet over, torpedo fire in her ears
She came because he needed her, my grandfather Norman John
Ch. I'm crying the tears that my grandfather couldn't cry
I'm crying the tears my father couldn't cry
After all these years this grief is melting from me
Into the ocean, into the ocean
2. He needed her to care for him and then he was in her arms
For she had come back home to him, my grandmother Dorothy
But soon she died so tragically, she left before her time
And still the war loomed endlessly for my grandfather Norman John
Ch.
3. She left him alone with a family to run and a war full of duty
So how could he grieve when the world would not stop
My grandfather Norman John
How could he grieve on this sweet, sweet earth
For my grandmother Dorothy
You came back home to me, my darling Dorothy ...

1. Don't blame it on the river, she was going anyway
Just jump into the water, and she'll take you there one day
Ch. You can run, but that won't get you there no faster
You can drive, but they ain't got no Chevrolet
You can cry and watch your tears roll in the water
Or just dive and let your troubles flow away
2. Some people start to worry in the rush to make it pay
But there's no need to hurry when the river shows the way
3. We're mostly made of water and it moves within our soul
Just like the river's daughter, in it's flowing we are whole

Cure for the Heartbroken
04:24
|
|||
1. If you don't love me, I will love a tree
Rooted in the earth, blowing in the breeze
If I don't love you, I will love a butterfly
Kiss me as it passes by, in between the leaves
If I don't love you, I will love a flower
Daring to be beautiful and open to the bee
If you don't love me, I will love the bee
Ch. Time will wash away the sadness
Rain will wash away the tears
Time will wash away the sadness
Earth will turn it into leaves, in the end
2. If you don't love me, I will love the earth
Love it with my bones, love it when I die
If I don't love you, I will love a bird
Gliding on the wind, crying to be heard
Up into the trees, floating with the clouds
Shining with the sun, dancing in the stars
If you don't love me, I will love the bee

Summer is Over
05:02
|
|||
1. Over it's over, summer is over
Jay birds are chirring over my shoulder
Ch. Something's stirring in the air today
Wind is playing with my hair today
Something's shifting in the sky above
Thing's are changing in the way I love
2. Shadows are longer, sunlight is lower
River is growing colder and colder
3. Over it's over, summer is over
Swallows will gather, go with the weather

Deer
03:42
|
|||
1. While I was walking in the woods I saw a fallow deer
Her coat is soft her eyes are bright and beautifully clear
If I could see between the leaves her kind and gentle face
If I could look into her eyes a soft and warm embrace
Ch. And then she's gone, she's gone
A whisper on the breeze
And then she's gone, oh she's gone,
A flicker in the trees
2. Her coat is chestnut in the sun and dappled in the breeze
Her legs are fine and fit to run and carry her with ease
With ears so sharp and nose so keen she's ready to take flight
She moves with lightness, grace and ease a shadow in the night
3. Light and shadow, movement in the trees
Hidden in stillness, waiting until dawn
And in a hollow wrapped in roots a fallow deer is born

Sweet Mystery
03:26
|
|||
Ch. 1. Sweet mystery, let it fill the room
Your love is like a flower with it's petals in full bloom
Sweet mystery let me feel your tune
Your love is like a flower whose nectar fades away too soon
Ch. 2. Sweet mystery let it fill the air
Your love is like a flower that is beautiful and rare
Sweet mystery let me feel your song
Your love is like a fading star and I cannot hold on
1. The sun and moon and planets all combine to where we are
Give love and light and life and air to this our only star
We're travelling through space at fifty thousand miles an hour
We learn to live and love and give with spinning planet power
2. The seas and oceans move in time with cycles of the moon
The trees and flowers and bushes dance to natures finest tune
The creatures of the earth are of one body and one mind
And so must we if there's to be a future for our kind

Sweetpea
03:09
|
|||
1. You're my little sweet pea sitting in your pea pod
Sitting in your pea pod looking at me
You're my flower fairy sitting in your buttercup
Lifting all the petals up with your tea cup
Ch. You are the sunshine that shines down on me
You are the earth and the sea
2. You're a little song bird sitting in your birds nest
wearing your feather vest in the sunset
You're a silver sea shell floating in the sea swell
Drinking in the sea smell, will the sea tell
